Thanks to the tenacity and drive of a group of Perdue and Indiana University students, the state Senate unanimously passed Bill 274, commonly known as the Indiana Lifeline Law. The bill grants legal immunity from arrest for possession, consumption or intoxication to minors who call for medical help when others have had dangerous levels of alcohol. The bill goes to Gov. Mitch Daniels’ desk for signing this week.
